2016 is a big year for fans of Winnie the Pooh. It’s his 90th birthday! It was 90 years ago that author A.A. Milne first put pen to paper to describe the adventures of Pooh-Bear, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore. And Nutley Edge Cottages are very close to where these characters first came to life.

Milne wrote the first of his famous Winnie the Pooh books in 1926 in the village of Hartfield in East Sussex, which is only a ten minute drive from Nutley Edge Cottages. You will love Pooh Corner in Hartfield, where you will find Pooh Country and the real Pooh Places – Poohsticks Bridge, Galleon’s Lap, Where the North Pole Was, Roo’s Sandy Pit, The Heffalump Trap and much more. There will be lots going on at Pooh Corner to mark the 90th anniversary.

So if you are planning to make a Winnie the Pooh pilgrimage and are looking for holiday cottages in East Sussex, Nutley Edge Cottages could be the perfect venue. We even have our own woodland stream where you can play a game of Poohsticks. We also have plenty of dog friendly holiday cottages if you want to bring four-footed friends.
